Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
A Project Manager (PM) effectively works directly with clients to successfully manage a project’s schedule, scope, and budget. PM’s require little to no owner supervision and routinely successfully manage multidisciplinary staff member(s) from project inception to final closeout.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Responsible for the successful completion of their engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Must be highly flexible.
  • Must demonstrate a desire and behavior that projects harmony with diverse clients, peers, vendors, and management.
  • Efficiently utilize all SEI resources to complete the project.
  • Manage client’s expectations in terms of schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Effectively coordinate with various internal SEI staff and departments to meet project’s goals.
  • Proficient technical writing skills.
  • Ability to correctly identify and detail scope of work at project inception.
  • Ability to administer and coordinate with SEI Contract Administrative staff to ensure contract compliance.
  • Ensure SEI Quality Assurance / Quality Control requirements are met.
  • Ensure actual hours do not exceed the billable/budgeted/planned hours.
  • If required, night and weekend work to guarantee schedule compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills to support regular (weekly) direct communications with clients.
  • Technical design proficiency that meets or exceeds the requirements of Engineer/Designer III.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups including customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Effectively manage workflow and production rates of project team members (Engineer & Designer).
  • Make suggestions on methods to improve production, quality, moral and general customer service.
  • Additional duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (BS) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university and minimum 10 years of related design experience. Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia. AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow, Stormsewer, Hec-1, Hec-2, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Schedule, Adobe, Photoshop and Excel.

Traffic Engineer Division Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
A Traffic Manager supports Traffic Engineering projects through efficient plan production, staff management, and maintaining understand of their project’s scope, schedule and budget. Must be a self-motivated individual that works well in a team oriented environment. Must be able to make independent and complex design decisions.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Proficient at preparing and reviewing all types of traffic engineering studies, signal plans and signing & marking plans.
  • Skilled in signal design, review and oversight.
  • Expertise in reviewing traffic simulation models (i.e. Vissim, Corsim, etc.).
  • A firm understanding of GDOT Plan Presentation Guide (PPG)/ Electronic Data Guidelines (EDG) for Signals, Signing & Marking Plans and ATMS Plans.
  • Expertise of local & state regulations governing design preferred.
  • Expertise of relationship between private, local & state permitting processes & the impacts funding sources have to each preferred.
  • Ensure company Quality Assurance / Quality Control requirements are met.

Traffic Specialist 1/Traffic Engineer1

JOB DESCRIPTION
A Traffic Specialist 1 is responsible for incident management and reporting at the Transportation Management Center for the Georgia Department of Transportation. Must be self motivated individual that works well in a team oriented environment.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Creating reports of Events/Incidents in the database system accurately and timely as required by GDOT
  • Generating and Editing Response plans to ensure proper notification on the Changeable Message Signs located on the freeway system in Metro-Atlanta
  • Updating and Terminating events/incidents in a timely manner that meets the expectations of GDOT
  • Preparing Web Alerts, Floodgates and other messaging that meets the expectations of the GDOT
  • Preparing accurate and timely weekly performance reports and other monthly reports
  • Complete special traffic engineering and data analysis projects for GDOT as requested
  • Provide excellent customer service to all users of the TMC

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university. Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia within 1 year is preferred. Microsoft Word, Excel, Database software and Microsoft Outlook skills are preferred. Must possess current, valid driver’s license and Social Security Card or other documentation for E-Verify. EOE

A Survey Crew Chief 2 leads the survey crew to accomplish the successful completion of each survey job through proper direction and time management. Must be self motivated individual that works well in a team oriented environment.

  • Exhibits excellent leadership through mentoring and solid decision making.
  • Excellent understanding of Boundary resolution and associated research.
  • Excellent understanding of Topographic Mapping.

  • Excellent Construction Layout skills
  • Excellent plan reading and interpretation.
  • Excellent in all related surveying instruments, data collectors and other peripheral surveying tools.
  • Excellent client skills understanding that everyone we meet may be a potential client.
  • Excellent communications and relationship building skills.
  • When required, work overtime, third shifts and out of town projecting a high level of flexibility.
  • Present yourselves as professionals at all times.
  • Complete understanding of SEI surveying policies and procedures.
