In 2005, SEI’s husband-and-wife owners, Teresa and Chad Epple, merged their two successful companies – Traffic Engineering Solutions, Inc. (TES) and Southeastern Engineering, Inc. (SEI), respectively – under the Southeastern Engineering name to provide a full package of diversified engineering services to developers in the public and private sectors. Since then, SEI has established a reputation for maintaining excellence in project work and a strong commitment to clients.
Teresa and Chad met as students at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and married soon after they graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering. While Teresa’s concentration was in traffic and transportation engineering, Chad focused on structural and civil engineering. Both are registered professional engineers in Georgia, and Chad maintains his registration throughout the Southeast.
Teresa and Chad started their engineering careers in Seattle, Washington, but soon returned to the Southeast, settling in the Atlanta area. After working several years in public and private traffic and transportation engineering positions, Teresa founded Traffic Engineering Solutions in 1996. Chad, whose experience includes civil engineering positions with other well-known engineering firms, formed SEI in 1999. Today, Teresa is SEI’s majority owner and serves the firm as the principal traffic/transportation engineer and administrative operations manager. Chad is the principal civil engineer/designer and operations director.
