SEI was selected by Oakmont Industrial Group to perform surveying and engineering services for a 605,000 square foot, new “tilt-up” distribution center on White Road in Cobb County, Georgia. SEI provided base surveying, traffic analysis, environmental assessment, and initial planning for the facility. The site required rezoning through Cobb County and met the thresholds for a Development of Regional Impact (DRI). SEI also provided base surveying and design support for offsite infrastructure improvements. Following the rezoning of the site, full construction plans were developed for the project that include grading and drainage, stormwater management, landscape architecture, erosion and sediment control, and access design. The design and permitting phase of the overall project concluded on time. The development is currently under construction. -ground utilities, and all marked underground utilities, among other features. As a part of the rezoning process, the project was determined to be a “development of regional impact” (DRI) and subject to Atlanta’s Regional Commission (ARC) purview. SEI will perform a traffic impact analysis on the site by gathering AM and PM, peak-hour turning movement counts for up to 13 intersection in vicinity of the site, as well as five 24-hour volume and classification counts. Design Development document preparation is expected to begin mid April. Duration of the project is anticipated to last until late summer 2014.
