The Teledyne Oceanscience Z-Boat is a new option for a more accurate hydrographic survey. The Z-Boat is a remotely operated hydrographic survey boat which can collect data beyond the capabilities of conventional direct measurement methods. With the Z-Boat SEI can collect data more safely and in areas that were considered inaccessible before. The Z-Boat utilizes a single beam, dual frequency sonar with a side scanner which transmits more accurate and safe measurements to shore in real-time, giving the operator total control over the survey process. SEI’s custom system can use GPS or the Boat Mounted Prism with a Robotic Total Station to collect data. Navigation of the boat is easy using a laptop on shore to track position and heading while it plots data points on the screen.

Easy to operate
Portable (under 80 pounds)
Up to 5m/s performance for fast river x-sections
