Intersection Improvements for Spalding Drive @ Chamblee-Dunwoody Road

As part of its Comprehensive Transportation Plan, the City of Dunwoody gave SEI a Notice-to-Proceed on September 17, 2013 to perform much-needed intersection improvements at Spalding Drive and Chamblee-Dunwoody Road. The intersection is a vital gateway into the city, but due to poor geometry in the form of vertical and horizontal curves, poses significant safety hazards to drivers. At the core of SEI’s project plan is a comprehensive community outreach program. Input is particularly relevant from the adjacent neighborhoods of Spalding Club, Woodland Forest, Oakpointe Place, and Redfield. Project objectives include enhancing driver safety, traffic operations, and pedestrian and bicycle connectivity within the community.
