Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport: New International Terminal Roadway

Service Details

Surveying

SEI is performing construction layout, utility verification, asbuilts, topographic mapping and providing primary control for the new Maynard H. Jackson, Jr. Boulevard. This new roadway replaces Aviation Boulevard and will lead to the new international terminal. It consists of multiple travel lanes including elevated pre-cast and cast-in-place roadways and service roads. Establishing accurate, reliable and recoverable control for this project is paramount. Due to the longevity of the project, installation and preservation of control is a key component and SEI has taken steps to insure reliability and repeatability of the primary survey control. Project staging, construction sequencing and the required time and information make this an extremely complex and time consuming project. SEI has committed the resources to provide timely, accurate and cost effective services to make this a successful project.

Civil Engineering

Since nearly project inception, SEI has provided Erosion, Sedimentation and Pollution Control Planning and permitting for the overall MHJIT project including the Terminal Roadway, terminal structure and apron, CV Lot and Long Term Parking Deck. Utilizing electronic data files from both City of Atlanta Department of Aviation on-call engineering groups, Ascend and AIS, SEI has assembled an aggregate set of ESPC documents for permitting through Clayton County Transportation and Development and the Georgia EPD. The overall disturbed acreage of the project has been kept to around 50 acres at any point in time though SEI has obtained EPD authorization to disturb in excess of 50 acres.
